Global Warming Chess presents the controversial issue of global warming in an interactive and visually stimulating way.
The game is played on a life-sized chess board, and the competing teams wear customized costumes representing either the causes of global warming or the cures. Team Cause includes Hummers, Trash, Factories, Lobbyists, Oil Towers, and Coal. Representing Team Cure are Bikes, Recycling Bins, Trees, Scientists, Wind Turbines, and Polar Bears. The teams face off in unrigged matches to illustrate the unpredictable reality of the battle between environmental violators, like carbon producing fuels and corporate lobbyists, and options that improve the possibility of sustaining human life for at least a few more generations.
