The Energy FACTory highlights renewable energy sources while educating people on ways to curb their appetite for fossil fuels. Through installations, workshops and/or demonstrations, the Energy FACTory provides a unquie platform to educate people on wind, solar,kinetic, fossil fuels, biodiesel, Ethanol thermal and other types of energy.

Energy FACTory Musuem Preimering at Coachella 2007, the Energy FACTory served as an inactive musuem to educate 200,000 festival goers on energy techology and new ways to stay off the grid. The Energy FACTory offers everything from solar powered DJs to Wind Powered clock towers, how to make your own bio diesel works shops to car conversions + a lot more.

Tour de Energy Bikes The Tour de Energy bikes help power everything from the Sweatshop Mixer to flat-screen TVs! As you pedal, you produce kinetic energy that is converted to electricity through alternator. At Coachella 2007, a fleet of 24 Tour de Energy bikes helped power festival goers’ cell phones.

Plug and Play Bikes These standalone bikes are great for charging cell phones or making an individual smoothie—the best reward for a few minutes of riding.

Energy Well The Energy Well is like a bank for energy—it’s a power collection device that connects to all the Tour de Energy bikes. The stores of energy are kept in batteries until time of use. Check out our new Energy Well v.2 with lithium ion batteries when it debuts at music festivals in Summer 2010.

Energy Seesaw The Energy Seesaw gives a jolt to your playground memories. You can enjoy a fun pasttime while also charging your cell phone, iPod or camera.

Human Hamster Wheels The Human Hamster Wheels are a component of the Sweatshop Mixer, where DJs’ turntables and soundsystems are powered by people running on these seven-foot-tall hamster wheels. These wheels also convert kinetic energy into electricity so you can listen to sets from talented local DJ’s while working up a sweat.

Handcranks The handcranks power everything from the Sweatshop Mixer to listening stations, where you can have the opportunity to be the first to listen to newly released albums from popular artists! Past albums we’ve cranked include Pearl Jam’s “Backspacer” at Outside Lands 2009.

18&Up Alternative Energy Golf Carts The 18 & Up project transformed a staple in the Coachella Valley into a mobile alternative energy exhibit. Coachella 2009 saw a fleet of Golf Carts never before seen in the Western world—from a solar-powered MIA cart to an ethanol Amy Winehouse cart, these tricked out golf carts were each powered by a different form of alternative energy and designed in the style of an artist performing at Coachella.

Ethanol Popcorn Part of the 2007 Energy Factory, our Jiffy Pop tree kept the corn popping and jaws dropping, all by the power of ethanol fuel.
